Beijing is an international city in China and you can find a lot of good Italian restaurants here.

1. Trattoria La:

This restaurant is located in a 5 stars hotel. The Italian food here is genuine and the eating surroundings are pretty good. You can watch the live band shows here. In most Chinese people’s mind, this place is a good choice to throw a big party with the foreign guests. The cost here is not low, especially for the red wines. Eating in this place will be a good experienc for your China vacations. Its breads and appetizers are delicious. I like the sea food macaroni (95 rmb) and pizza (75 – 98 rmb) here very much. Their services are not bad, especially for the foreign customers.

2. Panino Teca:

This restaurant’s logo is very attractive. It is the Chinese letter “?” made with three colors: red, white and green. These three colors are from the Italian national flag. Pretty cool, right? Its decorations are in the concise style. The waiters and waitresses here are nice. I will recommend its ciabatta bread. The cheese cakes here are all made with the genuine Italian cheese. You can see lots of foreign customers here every day. They are from the embassies nearby and you will get a feeling that you are not eating in a restaurant in China. Panino Teca is a very good place for you to have some real Italian food in Beijing.

3. Adria:

Its chefs – GIUSEPPE and RAFFAELE – are both very good chefs from Italy. You can have plenty of choices here: more than 140 types of Italian food. Just for the pizzas, they have 28 different types for you to choose. This place is the favourite of most Italians living in Beijing. There are only 1,000 Italians here in Beijing and Adria’s waiters or waitresses can recognize almost every Italian people in this city. I like the sea food spaghetti(68 rmb) here. It is very genuine and delicious.

4. Hutong Pizza:

This is a little restaurant but you can see the mix of the western and eastern culture here. Hutong is like a logo of the old Beijing city and Pizza is also like a symbol for the Italian food. All the food here are made by hand and are more delicious than the fast food restaurants in Beijing. Its salad dressing is unique and you will need to try it at least once. The Italian dumpling is like the mix of the Chinese dumpling and the Italian pizza. Very interesting. You can try its Italian sausage(56 rmb) and vegetable pizza(58 rmb) too.

The Thai food is lots of people’s favourite food and you can find many good Thai restaurants in Beijing. If you are not very familiar with the menus in Thai restaurants, you can try the house specails. They are the dishes recommended by the Thai chef and you will not be disappointed with them.

1. Red Basil Thai Restaurant:
Address: 8 Xinyuanli Nanxiaojiejia Street, Beijing.
How to get here: Take the Line 403, 302 or 300 city bus to the station named “Niuwangmiao”.
Capacity: 100 people.
House specials: Thai fried prawn cutlets (60 rmb), Thai hot and sour soup (40 rmb), Thai fried fish cutlets (60 rmb), Thai ginger flavor chicken soup ( 40 rmb ).
Some comments: One of my friends said that the Red Basil Thai Restaurant is the best Thai restaurant in Beijing. In my point of view, this restaurant is not a bad choice for a Thai food fan but it is a little bit expensive. This restaurant has been in good business for a long time now. It is close to the Nanyin Mansion and Yansha Mansion. The good location helps it to attracts more and more customers.

2. Water Lily (Hehua) Thai Restaurant:
Address: Guomao Center West SB124A, Beijing.
Tel: 65055386.
Capacity: 50 people.
House specials: Curry dishes (48 rmb), Thai hot and sour shrimp soup (66 rmb).
Some comments: You can find the native Thai food here and the delivery service is also available here (with reasonable price).

3. Saigon Inn:
Address: Gloria Plaza Hotel, Chaoyang districe, Beijing.
Capacity: 108 people.
House specials: Red Lion-head with Single Narial Bouquet (48 rmb), The peacock spreads its tail feathers (298 rmb), Sixiwanzi (98 rmb).

4. Asian Star Restaurant:
Address: 26 Dongsanhuanbeilu Street, Chaoyang district, Beijing.
Capacity: 150 people.

5. Panqumei Thai Restaurant (South-east Asian Dishes, sea food):

How to get here: Take the Line 300 city bus to the station named “Jingxin Mansion”.
Capacity: 40 – 50 people.

6. Changtaiyuan Thai Restaurant (South-east Asian Dishes):
Address: 8 Fangzhuanglu Street, Fengtai District, Beijing.
How to get here: Take the Line 63, 12, 112, 52 to the station named “Fangzhuang”.
Capacity: 120 people.
House specials: Curry Chicken (30 rmb for the small dish and 40 rmb for the big dish), Xianglanye Fried Chicken (38 – 48 rmb), Hot and sour shrimp soup (68 – 88 rmb), Thaizhishadie (39 – 45 rmb).
Comments: The food here is the native Thai food and all the spices are from Thailand. The chef here is one of the top 10 Thai food chefs in Thailand. 1. French Bistro:
You can feel the unique French Bistro culture here and the good atmostphere will help you to relax. The steak and red wine are very “French” in this restaurant. 2. Brasserie Flo:
Brasserie Flo is a famous brand from France. Brasserie means homely dishes in French and Flo is a very popular one in these Brasserie restaurants. 3. Bleu Marine:

4. Justine’s:
It is a old French restaurant founded in 1982 (Beijing branch). Justine’s is many people’s favourite French restaurant in Beijing. You can get very traditional French dishes here and this restaurant is the only place for you to eat the Gold Kobe Steak ( I love it, ) in Beijing. 5. Maxim’s de Paris:
This restaurant starts its business in Beijing from the year of 1983. I remember that my colleague have dinner with his girlfriend here in valentine’s day. Lots of Beijingers like this French restaurant. You can see the live band shows here and the atmostphere is romantic. The services are not bad but the dishes are not always so good here(it denpends on which chef cooks your dinner). The only thing which is always good here is the ice-cream, .  The address of Maxim’s de Paris is: 2 Qianmenxidajie, Chongwen Hotel, Chongwen District, Beijing. Office hours: 11:00-14:00, 17:00-22:00. The cost is about 150 rmb for one person.

6. Le Bistort des Chateaux Cafe& Restaurant:
The chef here is very famouse. Address: 3 Jianguomenwaidajie, 1st floor of the Jinglun Hotel, Chaoyang district, Beijing. Office hours: 9:30 pm – 2:00 am. The cost is about 200 rmb for one person.

7. Cuisine Galley:
The French chef here has 29 years of experience. The menu is also produced by him. There are also some interesting dishes that combine the French style and the Chinese style in this place. The address is: 2 Dongjiaomingxiang, Novotel Xinqiao, Dongcheng district, Beijing. Office hours: 11:30-14:00, 17:30-21:30. The cost is about 150 rmb for one person.

8. Frist Star:
The chef-Benson here has more than 15 years of experience (worked for the famous French restaurants such as La Couple, Wangfu Hotel, FLO). Singapore is made up of 70% Chinese people and just by looking around, you can see their influences everywhere. Let us talk about the local Chinese food you can find in the low to midrange price eating houses. You have your collection of carrot cakes, char kway teo, chicken rice (which is hainanese), bah kut teh and hokkien mee to name a few. As you can see, just by a small list of some of the local delights enjoyed by our Singaporeans on a daily basis, the roots of the dishes are far and wide. If you really want to absorb every aspect of Chinese culture and cuisine, I would highly recommend that you visit Chinatown. The prices range from extremely cheap to mid and high range for those more classy Chinese restaurants. There are more than 100,000 Korean people in Beijing now. Wangjing and Wudaokou are the two famous Korean areas in Beijing.

Wangjing is a major residential area in Chaoyang District, in the northeast of Beijing, China. The name “Wangjing” means “view of Beijing”. Expansive in dimensions, it is a very important residential zone and has a large number of high-rise apartments built from the mid-1990s onwards. Because of the large number of South Korean residents in “Wangjing” , it has earned a nickname as Beijing’s Koreatown. More than 70,000 South Koreans live in the neighborhood.

Wudaokou is also known for its large number of international students, especially Korean students. Wudaokou’s popularity as an international student area is reflected in its large number of bars and nightclubs (including Bar Loco, Pyro, Lush and Propaganda), which generally offer cheaper prices than many similar clubs in more central areas, such as Sanlitun.

It is located in the Wudaokou area. (close to the Wudaokou subway station, very convenient if you take the subway here) I like the Salmon Sushi here. Very delicious.   The sea food chafing dish is also a very good choice for you. It is enough for 3 people. You can try the fresh fruit juice if you want. The cost here is about 45 rmb for one person.

2. Xiongjia Korean Restaurant:

It is in the south of Wudaokou Xijiao Hotel. Its environment is not bad. You can find some VIP rooms in this restaurant if you need more privacy. This place is good for you to hang out with friends. For the food here, I will recommend the Korean BBQ. The cost is about 41 rmb for one person in Xiongjia.

3. Selangfang:

The address is: 35 Chengfulu Street, 3rd floor ot the Dongyuan Mansion, Haidian District, Beijing. I like the Korean pickles here. You will love this restaurant if you like the sour food. 4. Hancunxiannongtang:
The address is: 23 Chengfulu Street, Wudaokou cinema, Haidian District, Beijing. There are enough spaces between the tables and you will not feel crowded here. A big LCD TV is playing the Korean TV shows all the time.
