Shenzhen travel info for your China vacations
This article is about the night life in Shenzhen. You can find some useful information in it if you are planning your Shenzhen travel now.
The city of Shenzhen, a new beautiful city of south China, is located just across from Hong Kong. The city has been the focus of intense urbanization, known as Shenzhen Special Economic Zone (SSEZ). Comparison of the satellite images in Google Earth shows the dramatic change in the landscape from 1979 to 2004, as thousands of high-rise buildings and factories have replaced previous agricultural and vegetated areas. (info for your China travel and vacations)
You can find a lot of nice pubs and bars in Shenzhen:
(1). Shengbaoluo:
You can see some Hongkong pop stars here. Now this place is not a disco club anymore and it is not so attractive to the young people now.
(2). Hongguan:
It was open on 2002. The light system here is cool. There is a stage for the live shows here (working flair shows). The dancing shows here are very fashionable. You can see the imitation shows of the most popular American and Japanese pop stars in Hongguan. Pretty cool! In a word, this place is a very good choice for the fashionable young people. ( by the way, the beer sales here are very beautiful,
)
(3). Chicago:
It is called the most popular night club for the white-collar in Shenzhen. It is located in the Shenzhen statium. There are also some nice bars in this area. The music here can make you high and you can see lots of beautiful girls here.
(4). Dafuhao:
This is my favourite night club in Shenzhen. The cost is not very high here. The 1st floor is the disco hall and 2nd floor is the KTV. The restaurant is in the 3rd floor. (info for your China vacations and tours)
Some tips for your Shenzhen travel:
Crime levels in Shenzhen are significantly higher than in neighbouring Hong Kong. That being said, it is still no reason to panic as the crime levels are still comparable with any of the great Western cities like Sydney, London or New York. Use your usual common sense and avoid going to deserted places alone at night, and you will probably be fine.
Shenzhen has lots of pickpockets, especially in areas around bus and train stations. Also watch out for groups of children, who will tackle and hold you around your legs until you give them money to go away. (useful info for your China vacations and trips)
Leave your passports in your hotel’s safe deposit. Divide your cash by stuffing some in your pants pocket too.
Be careful to exchange money only with recognized places or people as they may give you fake currency. To be safe, only do your currency exchange at the Bank of China.
Be sure to keep an eye on the bigger notes (¥100 especially) given during payment to the salespeople, they may exchange it under the table while you are not looking and claim that you have given them a fake note. It is recommended to always keep loose change (smaller denominations) while taking a taxi or shopping at the market.

KTV in Shanghai, China – Info for your China vacations
This article is about the KTV in Shanghai and you can find some helpful information in it if you are planning your China vacations now.
1. Haoledi KTV:
There are 6 Haoledi KTV stores in Shanghai: Xintiandi flagship store, Huaihai store, Huangpu store, Dongnan store, Meiluo store and Wujiaochang store. Here is the reservation phone number: 8002200808. The decoration of Haoledi KTV is good. What I like most is the Xintiandi flagship store. It has lots of KTV rooms. You will need to tell them the room type you want when making your reservation. They have mini, small, medium and large rooms available for the customers. There is a convenience store in it and the price is not high. You can get Heineken beer for 15 rmb in this convenience store. I don’t like the Luwei (meat or fowl stewed with soy sauce and strained before serving) dish which they like to recommend to the customers. The fruit plate is not bad and it costs only 28 rmb. This Haoledi KTV is a good place for you to hang out with friends, throw a small party or entertain your clients. The cost for the prime time is about 150 rmb for one person.
Rating(10 is the highest score): 10 for the sound system, 8 for the songs update speed, 9 for the KTV room condition.
2. Party World:
Party World has 3 stores in Shanghai: Jingan store (62490300), Huangpu store (63741111), Luwan store (63749909). What I like it most is the attractive promotions. 80% off for 07:00 – 12:00 (Monday to Thursday). 20% off for 20:00 – 24:00 (Monday to Thursday). You can get free food in the Party World KTV. It is a buffet and you can get lots of choices here. Some people like this buffet of the Party World very much. In my view, it is just ok.
The Party World KTV is very popular in Shanghai and you need to make a reservation first if you wanna be here. I like to hang out with friends in Party World KTV. By the way, the cost here is not low. (about 150 rmb for one person)
Rating: 10 for the sound system, 9 for the songs update speed, 9 for the KTV room condition.
3. Langsha KTV:
They have 3 stores in Shanghai: Xuhui store, Nanjinglu store, Baoshan store. Here is the number for reservation: 63512535, 63512536. I only visited the Xuhui store once and I feel like being in a disco club in this KTV. The good thing here is the price. It is lower than Party World and Haoledi KTV. The food here is not special. (just some ordinary Chinese food)
Rating: 8.5 for the sound system, 8 for the songs update speed, 8 for the KTV room condition.
4. Padouva KTV:
It is located in the famouse Nanjinglu street. Here is the phone number for reservation: 62588889. Its decoration style is unique. (designed by some famous designers) Because of its good location, the cost here is not low. (more expensive than the Haoledi KTV) One interesting thing here is the PS2 (Sony Play Stations 2) rooms. If you are throwing a birthday party here, you can get a free birthday cake.
Rating: 9 for the sound system, 9 for the songs update speed, 9.5 for the KTV room condition.
5. Shanghai Gecheng KTV:
They have 2 stores in Shanghai: Ganglu Square store and Nanjingdonglu store. Here is the phone number for reservation: 63522111. Usually you can get a big discount here but its sound system is just ok. Do not choose this place to hang out with friends if you are not a very good singer.
Rating: 7 for the sound system, 8 for the songs update speed, 8 for the KTV room condition.

There are some non-stop flights from U.S. to China now. You can fly directly to Beijing from S.F.(UA 8888/CA 8888 13:40, CA 985, 15:30,) , NYC(CA 981/UA 4451 13:00, CO 88, 17:00), L.A.(CA983/UA4455, 20:15). More information about Beijing flights at Travel2ChinaInfo Dot COM.
The 2008 Beijing Olympics Game is a very successful one and many travellers are now interested in the Olympics stadiums in Beijing. Here is an introduction of these great stadiums:
1. Beijing National Stadium (Bird’s Nest/Olympic Stadium): It is the main stadium of the 2008 Beijing Olympics Games and all the Chinese are very proud of it. It is 24.8 kilometers away from the Beijing Capital Airport(about 30-40 minutes’ ride and costs 75-90 rmb for the taxi service). You can get here by bus too. The 407, 113, 939, 944, 983, 386, 740, 753, 689, 656 city bus will take you to the Beijing National Stadium(name of the bus stop is Beichenqiaoxilu). The subway is also a good choice. You can take the subway to the stop named “Olympics Center”. There are many good restaurants near the Beijing National Stadium and I will recommend these three: (1). Hongfanqie restaurant, 18 Beichendonglu, Catic Hotel Beijing; (2). Friday, 18 Beichendonglu, Catic Hotel Beijing; (3). Jiashiyuhuayuan restaurant, 23 Beichendongluhuayuanyihao. If you wanna go to a bar or something, there are also some good choices for you: (1). Good friend: 8 Beichendonglu(in the north of the Catic Hotel). (2). Feiwen club: 8 Beichendonglu(in the east of the Beijing National Stadium). (3). ViVo club: 28 Aihuibeiliyiyuan. Also, there are lots of good hotels and motels near the Beijing National Stadium. Here are some motels I recommend: (1). Beijing Aomengsi, North Huizonglu, Huiyindasha. (2). Anzhou motel: 416 Huizonglu. By the way, the ticket price for the Beijng National Stadium is 50 rmb.
2. Water cube: It is the swimming center for the 2008 Beijing Olympics Games and is very close to the Beijing National Stadium(about 5 minutes’ walk). Cost: 30 rmb. (You can find more information about Beijing flights and China vacations at Travel2ChinaInfo Dot COM)

The real Airport Express and subway system in Beijing – Info for China vacations
This article is about the Airport Express and subway system in Beijing. You can find some useful information in it if you are planning your China vacations now.
The speed of the Beijing subway train is about 73.3 km / hour. Because the subway system of Beijing is very new and lots of new technologies are used to build it, most people believe that the Beiijing subway system should be advanced and convinient. But I find that this subway system is not convinient for the passengers and lots of time is wasted in the transfer stations, especially for the Line 13. I live in Beijing for almost 10 years and I think I can get a good understanding of the subway system of Beijing. (more info about the Beijing airfare, China vacations and Shanghai airfare at Travel2ChinaInfo Dot COM)
I will give an example here. It’s only 3 minutes’ ride from Jishuitan to Beijing north railway station. From the digital map, I got this info: (1). Take the Line 2 subway in Jishuitan and get off on Xizhimen. (2). Walk 150 meters and you will get to the Beijing north railway station. I decided to take the subway for this trip. At first, I thought that it will only cost me 10 minutes to get to my destination by subway. I entered the Entrance C of the Jishuitan station. There is no down escalator here and I have to walk down by myself. I am ok with this. But it will be a horrible experience for those passengers with big luggages. I took a train to Xizhimen. When I arrived at Xizhimen, I saw a direction board telling me to go to Exit A (for the Beijing north railway station). There are a lot of passengers in this subway station and you will see many people carrying big luggages here. But they have to walk up and down too in this subway station. (no escalator for the passengers who transfer to the Line 13 subway) You can imagine how hard this subway transfer could be for these people. This railway station is not just inconvenient for the passengers, it is very time consuming too. I entered the Jishuitan station on 14:02 and get to my destination – Beijing north railway station – on 14:40. Wow! 38 minutes! I spent only 5 minutes taking the subway train and the other 33 minutes was all used in the subway transfer. (many up and down stairs in the Xizhimen station)
The Xizhimen transfer station is a nightmare for most passengers but it will be nothing comparing with the Military Museum Station. You will have to get off in this station if you wanna go to the Beijing west railway station by subway. There is a subway station named “Beijing west railway station” in the blueprint of the Beijing subway system. But this station is not ready till today and all the passengers have to walk to the Beijing west railway station with their big luggages. To be honest, this is not a good choice. It is too far away from the Military Museum subway station to the Beijing West Railway Station and you will be exhausted if you choose to go there on foot. You’d better take a taxi or bus instead.(more info about the Shanghai airfare, China vacations and Beijing airfare at Travel2ChinaInfo Dot COM)
As I know, the Fuxinmen transfer station and Guomao transfer station are very time consuming too. In my point of view, the Beijing subway system is not very convinient if you have to do some transfers to get to your destination. These transfers will cost you too much time and energy. In this case, the taxi or bus will be better for you.
The Airport Express is designed for the passengers to the Beijing Capital Airport. But most people choose to take the airport bus now instead of this Airport Express subway line. I took this Airport Express once. It is not comparable with the Airport Express in Hongkong or Paris, although these two were built earlier. There is no place for big luggages in the train and you have to put your luggages in the aisle. When I get off at the Dongzhimen station, I was disappointed again. You will have to carry your big luggages by hand because there is no escalator here too just like the Xizhimen transfer station. I talked to the security guy and he told me that all the passengers from the airport have to use the stairs and he heard lots of complains about this issue. The transfer in the Dongzhimen station is very time consuming too. Because of this, you will spend more time to get to the Beijing Capital Airport if you choose to take this Airport Express subway, comparing with the airport bus. This Airport Express is more expensive too. It costs 25 rmb. But you will only need to pay 16 rmb for the airport bus. No wonder most people choose the airport bus now. (You can get more info about the Beijing airfare, China vacations and Shanghai airfare at Travel2ChinaInfo Dot COM) I heard that some people missed the plane because the delay of the Airport Express train. This “Express” subway line is not that fast in my point of view. Another disadvantage of this Airport Express is that the train will always get to the T3 terminal first, then go to the T2 terminal. If you are going to the T1 terminal, you will need to go to your destination on foot again !
